2026, Welcoming the AI Era — A Year of Transition

For the past 10 years, I’ve been coding. I’ve been typing tons. 50% of my time was about typing in English to other colleagues to understand what we needed to do, and the other half was typing some very specific syntax into the computer to translate my understanding of that idea into something real. A big majority of the time, the computer did what I told it to do.

If it didn’t, it was mostly my inability to understand what needed to be done, or how to translate that into code.

Then AI entered the room. Suddenly we can give plain English to a “machine”, and that machine spits out code. In the past couple of years that I stopped writing anything here, our industry started experiencing a transition that is changing the world, including my own.

Coding for me was always a means to an end. I enjoy the social aspect of it, sharing ideas and solving problems with other people, and more than everything, seeing how individuals who don’t know how to code can benefit from whatever I create.

This 2026 represents a year of transition for me. I’m reaching a point in my life where I want to become a founder, not a wannabe-founder. For the past 6 years, my main goal was to generate a separate stream of income that would allow me to explore what being a founder actually feels like. I don’t care about titles. I do care about the impact you can have with what you do with your time.

Moving forward, this blog will open a few windows into my brain. What I think, what I’m building, what’s failing, what’s surprisingly working. I think many engineers, maybe frontend engineers especially, are going through the same emotions and ideas right now. You’re not alone, and neither am I.

I’m currently building Tike, Stepcraft, and a handful of smaller projects to see what finds product-market fit. Design, marketing and sales are where I struggle the most, so I’ll write about that too, honestly.
